A resurgent Mango is launching a new workwear capsule this month that sits under its premium banner, Selection. It comes as brands at all price levels focus on their careerwear pieces as the summer holiday period nears its end.

This particular collection launches on 4 September and features pieces the retailer says “can be taken from day to night”. It also includes “premium quality” fabrics such as wool, cashmere, silk and leather throughout the capsule, “spotlighting Mango’s excellent quality finishing and expert tailoring”.

It nods to key trends with “sharp masculine tailoring pieces levelled by a feminine feel” and with silhouettes including fitted suits inspired by the 90s, plus oversized suits with detachable sleeves.

Leather is also featured throughout, including vintage-inspired jackets and short bomber and caramel suede pieces.

It all comes with a campaign called The City Will Follow, “inspired by the return to work and the joy of getting dressed up for the office and beyond”.

The offer has been styled by Denmark’s Alex Carl who “curated outfits for the contemporary woman that can be worn to work and for leisure”.

And the Spanish company chose a city that knows a thing or two about power dressing to set it all off with the campaign photographer Anthony Seklaoui on the streets of New York.
