Milan headed west on Wednesday night when Zegna and the Elder Statesman launched their capsule collaboration with a celebration in the Hollywood Hills at Richard Neutra’s Linn House. The Zegna family’s next-gen scion, Edoardo Zegna, was on hand with artistic director Alessandro Sartori and Elder Statesman founder and CEO Greg Chait as they welcomed actors James Marsden, Kumail Nanjiani, Evan Peters, and Kyle MacLachlan; singer Giveon; and NBA players Shareef O’Neal and Jalen Green.

Zegna described the family’s and Chait’s obsession with craftsmanship and material as “geeky,” with shared hopes of designing for longevity to ensure slow fashion, pieces built to last and endure trends: “Slow, slow, like we Italians love.” This is the heritage brand’s second collaboration with a streetwear favorite like Statesman, following its collaboration with Fear of God, and both brands hope to usher in a new generation of understated style. Passed apps, music by Faux Real, and a sprawling view of the Los Angeles grid kept guests mingling and dancing late into the night. The whole act will continue on the road with more celebrations to come in Chengdu and Singapore later this fall.
