Doja Cat arrived on the red carpet for the 2023 Video Music Awards in Newark, New Jersey on Tuesday, adopting the naked dress trend.
In honor of this year’s MTV VMAs, the singer wore a crocheted white dress from Monse with web-like details that exposed skin. She accessorized her ensemble with diamond jewelry from Maria Tash and Nicole Rose.
Doja Cat is one of the most nominated singers at this year’s MTV VMAs, with five nominations across categories, including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction and Best Art Direction. She is also taking the stage this evening as one of the ceremony’s performers.
Doja Cat’s presence at the MTV VMAs comes fresh off her attending events for New York Fashion Week. She joined fellow musicians Hayley Williams and Ice Spice in celebrating the collaborations between Jean Paul Gaultier and Knwls, which launched on Friday.
She’s currently promoting her “Scarlet” album’s latest single “Paint the Town Red,” which debuted on Aug. 4.
This isn’t the first skin-baring look Doja Cat has donned. In April she attended the Time 100 Gala wearing a Valentino Couture dress featuring a sheer bust.
Since 1984, MTV’s Video Music Awards have celebrated the biggest artists of the year. The 40th VMAs, held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, are hosted by Nicki Minaj and feature a brand new category: Show of the Summer. Shakira will receive the coveted Video Vanguard Award, while P Diddy is being honored with the Global Icon Award.
