Katie Holmes brought her minimalist style to the Max Mara pop-up boutique store opening in New York City on Wednesday. Holmes paired a satin maxiskirt from the brand, which included a tonal belt and a front slit, with a classic white T-shirt. She also carried a clutch from Proenza Schouler.

When it comes to creating her looks, the actress usually works with stylist Brie Welch.

Holmes has longstanding ties with Max Mara. In 2011, she was the recipient of the Women in Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award, which is given to actresses who are experiencing a positive turning point in their career. For that event, Holmes channeled her inner businesswoman in a navy double-breasted suit with wide-leg trousers.

In May, to the Family Equality’s Night at the Pier, an event that supported LGBTQIA+ rights, Holmes wore a Chloé leather slip dress with doily-like cutouts. That same month, she was a part of the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival’s Talks and Reunions, which also included Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rosie Perez, Jane Fonda and Paul McCartney. 2023 was also the year that Holmes released her third-directed film “Rare Objects” in theaters.

The Max Mara event on Tuesday marked the opening of the brand’s first pop-up boutique in SoHo. The store will be open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST. The opening event, which was attended by Ashleigh Murray, Lana Condor and Lucy Hale, also aligns with the Teddy Ten, the 10th anniversary of the Max Mara Teddy Bear coat.
