Chanel has announced a senior management reshuffle. The French luxury label has transferred Joyce Green, its current managing director for fashion in the USA, to France, where she will assume the role of managing director of Chanel France. She is replaced in the USA by the country’s current head of design and brand communication, Rebekah McCabe.

Both appointments will be effective from January 2024, a spokesperson for the label told FashionNetwork.com. Greene, who has been with Chanel for more than 16 years, will succeed Frédéric Bocquillon, who has been managing director of Chanel France for six years, after working for 11 years in other senior executive roles within the group.

A graduate of the University of Arizona, Greene worked at Guerlain, Clarins and Kiehl’s in various commercial roles, before joining Chanel USA in 2007 as senior vice-president in charge of several divisions, notably overseeing sales and customer development for the Perfumes & Beauty division. In 2016, she was promoted to managing director and executive vice-president of fashion at Chanel USA.

After working for Ralph Lauren, McCabe joined Chanel USA in 2005 to take charge of brand communication across all divisions. She later took on the additional remit of overseeing the fashion design and store design staff for the US market. She has notably contributed to boosting Chanel’s brand image in the USA, by organizing high-impact events and forging several partnerships in the culture sector.

Earlier this year, Chanel reorganised its top management on the US market by appointing Stéphane Blanchard as president of the USA and of the group’s local subsidiary, Chanel Inc., following the departure of John Galantic.
