London-based designers may make a huge impact creatively but their smaller-sized operations mean their collections rarely come with a full quota of shoes and accessories. But this disadvantage actually offers plenty of collab and cross-marketing opportunities and there were two interesting ones this season.
Crocs has been a strong player in the collaboration space in recent years and this particular collab collection “explores the juxtaposition between femininity and utilitarianism”.
Marrying Crocs’ DNA with Simone Rocha’s design aesthetic, the partnership introduced three new shoes — the Siren, the Classic Clog, and the Quick Trail, all of which will launch for spring 2024.
Meanwhile, Fashion East alumni A Sai Ta of ASAI returned to the Fashion East show as special guest showcasing his SS24 collection in partnership with Timberland.
The collection was styled with Timberland’s Original Yellow boot, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this Autumn as well as the Allington Boot from Timberland’s new women’s Find Your Superpower collection.
It’s a link-up that clearly benefits both parties and it also gave Timberland an opportunity to make another impact with its new female ambassador Pip Millett, who was seen at the show. The soul and R&B artist was in the front row in her Veneda Carter boots wearing ASAI’s Hot Wok dress.
