Likewise, the company bids farewell to two long-standing directors, Michel Dyens and Patrick Choël. The reshuffling reduces the size of the board to nine members, with five of them designated as independent directors.

“We are delighted to welcome Kappauf to our board. We are confident that Kappauf’s perspective on fashion, luxury, culture, and the art of living will bring diversity of viewpoints to our board of directors,” said Jean Madar, chairman & CEO of Interparfums.

“I want to thank Michel and Patrick for their many years of service and their invaluable contributions and insights.”

Kappauf entered the world of fashion working behind the scenes at a Jean-Paul Gaultier fashion show. Kappauf’s career continued to evolve as he provided marketing and acquisition consulting services to the L’Oréal Group during the tenure of Lindsay Owen Jones as its chairman.

In 1992, he founded his own magazine, Citizen K, which would go on to become Citizen K International in 2012, a benchmark in fashion, luxury, and lifestyle.

Kappauf’s vision for Citizen K extended even further with the launch of Citizen K Homme in 2013, followed by a refreshing transformation of Citizen K International in 2014, marked by a new format and a fresh aesthetic.

In 2016, Kappauf expanded the magazine’s global reach with Citizen K Arabia, tailor-made for the Middle East audience, with 20% of its content customized for the Emirates and the Middle East region.

Most recently, Kappauf launched The Kurator in 2021, the first a-gender magazine in the Middle East, serving as a luxury supplement to Gulf News, the region’s leading daily newspaper.

Interparfums has a portfolio of prestige brands spanning Abercrombie & Fitch, Anna Sui, Boucheron, Coach, Donna Karan, DKNY, Ferragamo, and more.
