The pop-up shop, designed as a larger-than-life advent calendar, encourages customers to embrace purposeful gift-giving and discover the brand’s Community Fair Trade program, the largest initiative of its kind in the cosmetics industry. It is open until November 30th in the Front Street Promenade at Union Station.
Visitors can shop select gifts from The Body Shop’s holiday collection, as well as best-selling advent calendars and limited-edition seasonal body care ranges like Cherries and Cheer and Pears and Share. Gifts include stocking stuffers, skincare routines, body care favourites and more – ranging in price from $10 to $140.
The Community Fair Trade program is known for sourcing ingredients and accessories from around the world, while also ensuring fair wages and working conditions for its partners.
Through the ‘Stories of Change’ wall in the pop-up space, shoppers can uncover the inspiring stories behind each product. By “peeling and revealing,” they can connect with the farmers, artisans, and makers who contributed to The Body Shop’s holiday collection this year. The ‘Advent of Change’ Pop-Up also offers daily surprises and giveaways.
“At a time when many Canadians are watching their spending, we’re excited to present a festive experience that not only brings joy to those who shop with us but helps them feel good about the money they spend by giving back to communities of people around the world,” said Hilary Lloyd, VP of brand and activism, The Body Shop North America. “Gifting is a simple gesture, yet it has the power to spark positive change.”
